When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a vulnerable best friend.
A shockingly dry movie. The little plot there was moved slowly. The subject of the relationship was a disfunctional relationship, but the movie didn't approach it with the nuance needed. The actors just had an expression of "meh" on their face the whole time. When the character was genuinely happy the actors would briefly flash a smile at the camera and then continue on expressionless. It ultimately felt like they bought the rights and then got stuck making it after a certain other movie came out.
